Jeep Cherokee 2019
The compact Jeep Cherokee debuted in 2013 with a polarizing face, three stacks of lights and its license plate hanging below its, um, beltline. What, no piercings?Jeep Cherokee 2019
Jeep’s midsize soldier is getting in line. The redesigned Jeep Cherokee debuting at the Detroit Auto Show trades its unconventional split headlight design for one that makes it look more like the rest of the company’s crossover SUVs.It’s also been on major a diet, dropping 200 pounds to improve performance and efficiency.
The updated version gets a new 2-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine with 270 horsepower and technology that shuts it down at stoplights to save fuel. It’s similar to the engine in Alfa Romeo sports cars. A 3.2-liter V6 and 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine carry over from the current model. A polymer tailgate is among the changes that help save 200 pounds.
Jeep also redesigned the rear cargo area, adding 4 cubic feet of storage space by making it wider so golf clubs can fit in straight rather than at an angle.
This includes the addition of a 7.0-inch or 8.4-inch touchscreen with pinch and zoom capability, which is equipped with the fourth-generation Connect system which includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Aesthetic updates include the use of high-gloss Piano Black and Satin Chrome accents on the interior.
Consumers will have a choice of 12 exterior colors: the aforementioned Blue Shade, Sting-Gray, Velvet Red, Firecracker Red, Olive Green, Hydro Blue, Light Brownstone, Granite Crystal, Billet Silver, Diamond Black Crystal, Pearl White and Bright White.
