The former NFL defensive lineman, who’s been a superstar of the ring since the late 1990s, was confirmed for the Hall of Fame on Monday.WWE has announced that Bill Goldberg will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame at a ceremony on Friday, April 6th at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans.
Goldberg was a hero of the now defunct WCW and a popular figure with the WWE before his farewell defeat by Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania XX.
Goldberg’s last match with the company was back at WrestleMania 33 in Orlando, when he defended the WWE Universal Championship against Brock Lesnar. In a statement, Triple H said “Goldberg’s unique athleticism, persona and intensity captured the imagination of sports entertainment fans around the world throughout his illustrious career. We are honored to have Goldberg take his rightful place in the WWE Hall of Fame.”
